    2020 C.E.
United States Presidency destabilises the renewable energy movements, shifting focus back to crude oil and related products in the interest of profits. Global economies tied to and/or dependent on the United States become more and more dependent on fossil fuels.

    2170 C.E.
Fossil fuels and synthetic alternatives finally run out, destabilising the dependent economies and causing global tensions between those who embraced renewable energies and those who pushed them aside.

    2176 C.E.
War finally breaks out. A world war for energy, survival, and perpetuation of the world's civilisations. The war that ended all wars.

    2200 C.E.
The wars end and the more militaristic fossil fuel nations decimated the more peaceful environmentally-conscious nations that focused their money on research and environmentally-conscious efforts. Unfortunately, the victors also destroyed their only chance for survival, for destroying that infrastructure also destroyed those power sources they intended to use.

    2210 C.E.
With all resources exhausted, most advanced technology fried from electromagnetic pulse blasts, and political power dissolving, civil unrest rises in the victorious nations and insurrectionist movements sprawl out and rebel against their governments.

    2215 C.E.
Society finally destroys itself, and the Earth goes still. Humanity reduces to pockets of like-minded individuals who come together to scrape together what life they can. Many die, but the strong, intelligent, and resourceful carry on the legacy of the human species.

    2225 C.E. / Year 1 of Rebirth
Humanity decides that the end of the world as we knew it merits a new cycle of years. Gradually, more and more people adopt this idea until finally the term Common Era is dropped and the Rebirth is established.

    205 R.
Nature has almost taken back the world completely and nearly everywhere is overgrown and wild, though some parts of the planet are desolate or subject to nuclear winter. Humanity has reverted down to more primitive and sustainable cultures with their lack of technology, except for a few pockets of those who have scavenged the relics of the old Humanity to create crude but operable motor vehicles and similar technology.
